Scenes from a Teenage Killing is a landmark film exploring the impact of teenage killings on families and communities across Britain. It is an emotional journey that chronicles every teenager who died as a result of violence in 2009 in the UK. Harrowing actuality filmed in the immediate aftermath combines with moving testimony from the spectrum of people affected in the wake of violent death. Filmed over 18-months, this epic documentary is the BBC's most ambitious film to date about youth violence.

“…once in a while, along comes a film that is so powerful and haunting that it seems to stop the world as you watch, leaving you struggling to enter the reality of unfolding life… such was the force of Scenes from a Teenage Killing.

[Matthews] trained his camera with unjudgemental humanity and warmth. The result was thoroughly chilling.”
The Observer

“In many ways Morgan Matthews’s film is remarkable. Brave, intimate and instructive”
The Daily Telegraph

“Remarkable”
The Guardian

“Nobody who saw the degree of grief here is liable to react to such deaths again with the weary indifference shown by a group of Londoners in the film… Authentic and important”
The Daily Telegraph
