BREAKING INTO BRITAIN: THE LORRY JUMPERS

A powerful and intimate film from award-winning director Leo Maguire, following the stories of migrants in Calais as they attempt to make it across the Channel to Britain.

Shot over the course of a year, this film follows a selection of compelling characters, each of whom has fled their homeland in the hope of starting a new life in the UK. Embedded with the migrants in the camps known as The Jungle, we follow them as they try to evade security guards and police, witnessing extraordinary, never-before-filmed scenes as they attempt to break into the back of lorries undetected.

They’ve been described as ‘cockroaches’ a ‘swarm’ and a tidal wave’. This film uncovers the human stories behind the headlines, and takes us on a risky, contentious and potentially life-changing journey through the eyes of the people making it.

This doc by Leo Maguire isn't an easy watch. It is, though, a necessary one
